A quantity takeoff (QTO) – sometimes called a material takeoff (MTO) – is the measurement and counting process that converts drawings into a defined list of materials and quantities: linear feet, square footage, cubic yards, unit counts, and labor hours, broken out by trade or CSI division.
A complete takeoff includes:
- Quantities by trade – concrete, masonry, steel framing, wood framing, sitework, drywall, flooring, painting, and more
